Spectacular Beaches and numerous Parks are here for your enjoyment. Pack your Backpack with a tasty lunch and drinks. Water is not available in all areas. Wear a hat and sturdy shoes. A jacket or warm sweater may come in handy as the day cools. Hiking sticks help on the steeper trails. Don't forget the Camera and binoculars! East Sooke Regional Park
Located on southern Vancouver Island the park covers 3500 acres of pristine West Coast rain forest fronting on the rugged coastline of the Juan de Fuca Strait. There are 3 accesses to the park offering 50 kilometers of hiking and nature trails. Trails & easy access picnic areas offer a diverse selection to all levels of guests. This simply superb park is a must see during your visit to Orveas Bay Resort.

Galloping Goose Trail
The “Goose Trail” was formally a railway line covering 55 Kilometers from Victoria to Sooke and beyond. Walkers, bikers, joggers & horses are all welcome to use this well maintained relatively level trail that can be accessed at a number of locations and enjoyed for those portions that are of interest to you.

Sooke Potholes Provincial Park
Well known as popular swimming spot in the Sooke River this Park is also a terrific local hiking area.

Sheringham Lighthouse & Nature Trail
Located at the end of Sheringham Road a fairly easy walk from Orveas Bay Resort. If you drive there is a parking lot to the right at the gate on Sheringham Road. This unmanned Lighthouse faces the waters of the Juan de Fuca where the surf splashes over the reef below. One of the finest places on the West Coast to enjoy stunning Sunsets & a great view point for watching the spectacular Swiftsure Yacht Race in May. A Great fishing spot where we have hooked several BIG ones!
